This technique is very simple and allows team members to cast their vote on a range of items without the “herding” behaviour as with Dot voting.
This is useful when there are a range of options to choose from and a majority decisions is needed.
Tasks
- Place each of the possible options in a vertical line on a sheet of flip chart paper or whiteboard with a number allocated to each possible option
- Ask the team the question to be answered
- Ask the team to write down the number of the option that they feel corresponds closely with their response on a post-it note
- Ask the team to place the post-it note alongside the option
- Share back as a team and discuss the outcome of the question
