Selection In A Range

This technique is very simple and allows team members to cast their vote on a range of items without the “herding” behaviour as with Dot voting.

This is useful when there are a range of options to choose from and a majority decisions is needed.

Tasks

1. Place each of the possible options in a vertical line on a sheet of flip chart paper or whiteboard with a number allocated to each possible option
2. Ask the team the question to be answered
3. Ask the team to write down the number of the option that they feel corresponds closely with their response on a post-it note
4. Ask the team to place the post-it note alongside the option
5. Share back as a team and discuss the outcome of the question
