Application Techniques (AT)
AT1: Building Individual Models and Stories
The goal is to build individual knowledge to unlock deeper insights, new knowledge and also to communicate to others.
The purpose here is to understand a shared goal or topic by integrating separate models into a single mode and is preceded by AT1.
AT3: Creating a Landscape
The purpose of this AT is to uncover patterns, categories and understanding across several models, and to see the larger context or picture.
AT4: Making Connections
The aim is to form links and relationships between models by physically joining them together.
AT5: Building a System
This AT builds upon AT4 with several connections to several models to create a system, that can also reveal systemic patterns and ripples.
AT6: Playing Emergence and Decisions
This AT builds upon AT5 by allowing participants to play out strategies and discover new impacts on the created models.
AT7: Extracting Simple Guiding Principles
This final AT is used to map out guiding principles with respect to the models and the systems built.
Tips
- Avoid departing from the model where a story begins to refer to items not in the model
- Could use exaggeration as a form to expand the models further
