A decisional balance sheet is a quick and easy technique to understand the pros and cons of doing one action versus doing alternative actions. Usually done with a team as a facilitated collaboration activity, a grid is normally drawn up with the possible actions that can be taken as rows and two columns for the pros and cons of each action.

Work through each of the cells in the grid with engaging conversation and filling out with post-it notes or similar to fill the table. At the end of the session consider as a team which are the most likely options to implement based upon the information uncovered.
