Personas are representations of specific customer segments or categories of users. They may include photos, interests, motivations, goals and a biography of an imaginary or real user to represent the segment.
Creating multiple personas to illustrate the motivations and goals of several customer segments may help to provide different perspectives of the product or service, building empathy and understanding of the customer needs.
Personas can be used in conjunction with several other techniques to provide context for the customer segments.
