A great way to gain deeper insights into how the product is going to be used by end users and to empathise with the particular pain points of the product, is to use it yourself.
Through being an end user you will get first hand knowledge of aspects of the product or service that are painful and need improvement, and with a richer understanding of the problem better and more accurate solutions are possible.
